Being a SAFE cHURCH
We acknowledge that, throughout history (and still today), there are those who have perverted the Gospel for greed, ambition, and conquest. We acknowledge that immeasurable harm has been caused to people and communities across Aotearoa. We do not excuse or justify that harm, nor do we dismiss the ongoing impacts of that harm.
We know that the teachings of Jesus command us to be a people of repentance, reconciliation, justice, and restoration. St Paul’s is committed to outworking those teachings in all areas of our church and community.
As such, we are committed to being a safe church for all.
As followers of Jesus, we believe that every person is made in God’s image. We want to create spaces where everyone knows they will be safe, especially from abuse of any kind.
If you are in immediate danger - call 111 and ask for the police.
If you have experienced misconduct, you can make a complaint through the ministry standards commission.
